About

We help veterans

We are two ex military that also served in NSW Police Force and had our own mental health journeys . We started tending to local graves and found immense benefits in commemorative based healing. We built this project specifically from the recommendations of the Royal Commission into veteran and defence suicide and from the scientifically proven 5 ways to wellness. Connect, be active, keep learning, be aware and help others. These tie into each aspect of what we do. Ultimately, we will do our part in changing the narrative of the increased suicidality of military and policing veterans.

Around the world

Australian soldiers have fought and died in 82 countries around the world. We have around 100,000 Australian service personnel graves or memorials in far flung places around the globe. These are largely managed by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission based in London. The CWGC do an amazing job but the maintenance of these is a monumental job. We work with CWGC to help support their existing volunteer programs to help maintain our fallen. In 2025 we attended 5 cemeteries across France and Germany to trial tending to war graves. CWGC have invited us to bring groups to selected locations in Europe to expand this volunteer work.

In Australia

We tend to graves and memorials across Australia. We are working with the Office of Australian War Graves to start an official volunteer program to allow us to work together to improve our official war graves. In Australia there are around 500,000 official war graves and around 1.2 million private graves of our fallen military and police. We attempt to contact families where possible but unfortunately this is not always possible. We work with local council’s, RSL’s and other authorities where required and comply with local requirements. Often this is not required as we use non-abrasive cleaning only tiding then place momentos, in a flag and poppy in remembrance. We do not generally do any major works.

We share the stories of our fallen

When we clean and rejuvenate a military or police grave we video record and photograph the process. We conduct research into the fallen and speak to their family or friends where possible. We post short videos of the tidying of their grave and pictures of service overlain with a narrative of their story and commemorating their service. We share this over our network of social media sites to tell their stories and keep the memory alive of their deeds and sacrifice to our great nation.

How do we clean graves?

We use the guidelines set out by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.https://www.cwgc.org/our-work/caring-for-our-sites/

We use the guidelines for managing cemeteries as set out in each state, for NSW this includes; https://www.cemeteries.nsw.gov.au/sites/default/files/2023-01/Voluntary-Code-of-Practice-for-Cemetery-Maintenance_0.pdf
