About

We help veterans

We are two ex military that served in NSW Police Force and had our own mental health journeys and experienced the ups and downs of this journey. We built this project specifically to target the areas we found that are not supported or provided as part of the process. The premise is that military and police are prone to rapidly declining mental health on stopping work and this project aims to support that and ultimately do our small part in changing the narrative of the increased suicidality of military and policing veterans.

We honour our fallen around the world

Australian soldiers have fought and died in 82 countries around the world. We have around 100,000 Australian service personnel graves or memorials in far flung places around the globe. These are largely managed by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission based in London. The CWGC do an amazing job but the maintenance of these is a monumental job. We work with CWGC to help support their existing volunteer programs to help maintain our fallen.

We honour our fallen in Australia

We started attending to graves and memorials of our fallen around northern NSW and had conversations with the Office of Australian War Graves. We found the OAWG official war graves were generally in great condition and well maintained. There are at least double the number of private war graves and memorials. This is because the soldier’s next of kin either did not apply, did not meet the criteria of dying of service related conditions or the family chose to have their own grave or memorial. Some of the OAWG official graves in the 1930’s and 40’s were decommissioned and not longer maintained. These are the graves were work on in Australia.

We share the stories of our fallen

When we clean and rejuvenate a military or police grave we video record and photograph the process. We conduct research into the fallen and speak to their family or friends where possible. We post short videos of their place of rest rejuvenation overlain with a narrative of their story and life. We share this over our network of social media sites to tell their stories and keep the memory alive of their deeds and sacrifice to our great nation.
