War Grave Tending in Action
Caring for a veteran’s grave isn’t about making it look brand new. It’s about respectfully caring for their resting place and ensuring their service continues to be remembered.
Before any work begins, we take the time to understand the grave, its condition and, where possible, the story of the person behind the name.
Using appropriate, non-abrasive methods, we carefully clean the headstone, tidy the surrounding area and remove light growth or debris where required.
Once the work is complete, we place a flag and poppy in remembrance and take a moment to honour the person who served.
It’s more than cleaning a headstone. It’s remembering the person behind it.

How do we clean graves?
Respectful care comes first.
Our grave tending is carried out using appropriate, non-abrasive methods and with respect for the grave, cemetery and the person being remembered.
Our approach is guided by the cemetery care principles of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, together with relevant cemetery requirements and guidelines in each state.
